PABLO ALBORÁN REVELA SUS GRANDES ERRORES Y PROMETE HONESTIDAD
El cantautor y músico español que con tan sólo 28 años ha batido todos los récords presenta su nuevo álbum ‘Prometo’ con el que vuelve revitalizado, lleno de nuevas influencias y dejándose ver tal cual es.

“Perdí el norte, pero he vuelto”, dijo en reiteradas ocasiones el artista malagueño al ser consultado sobre el parón de dos años en su carrera que lo mantuvo ausente de los escenarios.
Y no era para menos, si tras sobrepasar las ventas de más de dos millones y medio de copias, ser considerado el artista número uno, certificando 42 discos de Platino, 14 nominaciones al LATIN GRAMMY, una al GRAMMY americano, un Premio Goya y numerosos reconocimientos en Latinoamérica y Europa, cualquier pierde el norte.
En medio de su gira promocional por La Florida, Pablo Alborán nos concedió una entrevista en la que habló de ‘Prometo’, su nuevo disco lanzado hace una semana y que sus fanáticos ya han calificado como “una catarsis personal” en la vida del artista.
Entregando una imagen mucho más íntima y reflexiva, la joven estrella aseguró que se “despedazó” en este álbum con el que se prepara para regresar a los escenarios con el ‘Tour Prometo 2018’. Una aventura que lo llevará hasta Latinoamérica recorriendo 20 ciudades desde el 1 de marzo hasta abril.
¿Extrañabas el ajetreo de las entrevistas, promociones y giras?
Claro que sí, pero para poder hacer las cosas bien hay que estar mentalizado y preparado. A veces la rapidez de la rutina y las cosas hacen que de repente pierdas un poco la estabilidad y empieces a hacer todo de manera automática.
Creo que eso hace que se pierda la emoción y la sensibilidad que la música necesita. No puedes hacer música si no hay emoción de por medio. Así que tenía que parar.
¿Qué aprendiste durante el tiempo ausente de los escenarios?
He aprendido a escucharme un poco más y a intentar pelear conmigo mismo para tomarme las cosas de otra manera: con más calma y siendo consciente de que hay hechos que se deben aceptar. Aprendí que no pasa nada por decir que ‘no’ a ciertas cosas y que ‘sí’ a otras.
¿Te auto exigías demasiado o eras muy crítico contigo?
Sigo siendo muy crítico, pero ahora lo hago de una manera más relajada. Entendiendo que hay cosas que no puedo controlar y que no debo obsesionarme porque eso puede ser autodestructivo.
¿Hubo miedo a que te olvidaran estando un año y medio lejos de los escenarios?
Por supuesto, pudo haber pasado y hay que estar preparado para eso. Pero lo que a mí me importaba era que el disco tuviera identidad y emoción. Si yo hubiese seguido haciendo giras, promociones y manteniendo las mismas conversaciones con mi equipo todo el día sobre las mismas cosas, no hubiese logrado este álbum (‘Prometo’).
¿Te reconoces en este disco? ¿Te refleja plenamente?
Si, es un álbum con mucha información. ‘No vaya a ser’ y ‘Saturno’, que fueron los primeros dos sencillos, representan planetas. Ahora tienen que escuchar el universo completo y a toda la galaxia.
Hay cosas muy diferentes y no porque deje de ser yo, sino porque pude despedazarme en este disco y la gente va a poder conocerme más.
Hubo tiempo de explorar, de hacer cosas nuevas, me deje guiar por el productor que es Julio Reyes, y creo que ha sido una de las primeras veces en donde han sabido sacar de mi todo lo que tenía adentro. Y no siempre se tiene esa suerte.
¿Te esperabas la aceptación de tus dos sencillos promocionales que en sólo horas se posicionaron número uno en España?
La aceptación del público siempre es un regalo, y que la gente te quiera seguir cuidando y apoyando cuando regresas con un proyecto nuevo es lo que todo el mundo desea. Pero los números son eso, números. Eso no me obsesiona para nada, lo que hay que hacer es seguir luchando para seguir siendo uno mismo, los más personal y honesto que se pueda.
Si en mi música, que es lo más puro que tengo, no hubiese una filosofía honesta de trabajo, al final nada tendría sentido.
¿El común denominador de tu disco es el romance?
Es un álbum que tiene critica, hay una canción que es un encuentro frente a frente con el poder y con los políticos. Hay otro tema que analiza la vida en general, que habla de los prejuicios, de las ganas de vivir que todos tenemos, y de que muchas veces somos nosotros mismos los que nos cortamos las alas.
Pablo Alborán se prepara para regresar a los escenarios de EEUU con un gran show en vivo compuesto por un nuevo repertorio que incluirá sus grandes éxitos y los nuevos temas de su más reciente producción discográfica, en la que comparte un tema con el astro español Alejandro Sanz.

“I lost the north, but I’m back,” said the Malaga artist repeatedly when asked about the two-year break in his career that kept him away from the stage.
And it was not for less, if after surpassing the sales of more than two and a half million copies, to be considered the number one artist, certifying 42 Platinum records, 14 nominations to the LATIN GRAMMY, one to the American GRAMMY, one Goya Award and numerous recognitions in Latin America and Europe, any loses the north.
In the middle of his promotional tour of Florida, Pablo Alborán gave us an interview in which he spoke of ‘Prometo’, his new album released a week ago and that his fans have already described as “a personal catharsis” in the artist’s life .
Delivering a much more intimate and reflective image, the young star said he “broke up” in this album with which he is preparing to return to the stage with the ‘Tour Prometto 2018’. An adventure that will take you to Latin America through 20 cities from March 1 to April.
Did you miss the hustle and bustle of interviews, promotions and tours?
Of course, but to be able to do things well you have to be mentalized and prepared. Sometimes the speed of routine and things make you suddenly lose a bit of stability and start doing everything automatically.
I think that makes you lose the emotion and sensitivity that music needs. You can not make music if there is no emotion involved. So I had to stop.
What did you learn during the time away from the scenarios?
I have learned to listen to myself a little more and to try to fight with myself to take things differently: with more calmness and being aware that there are facts that must be accepted. I learned that nothing happens by saying “no” to certain things and “yes” to others.
Did you demand too much or were you very critical of yourself?
I’m still very critical, but now I do it in a more relaxed way. Understanding that there are things that I can not control and that I should not obsess because that can be self-destructive.
Was there a fear that they would forget you being a year and a half away from the stage?
Of course, it could have happened and you have to be prepared for that. But what mattered to me was that the album had identity and emotion. If I had continued doing tours, promotions and keeping the same conversations with my team all day on the same things, I would not have achieved this album (‘Promethe’).
Do you recognize yourself in this album? Does it reflect you fully?
Yes, it’s an album with a lot of information. ‘It will not be’ and ‘Saturn’, which were the first two singles, represent planets. Now you have to listen to the entire universe and the entire galaxy.
There are very different things and not because I stop being me, but because I could break apart in this album and people will be able to know me more.
There was time to explore, to do new things, let me guide by the producer that is Julio Reyes, and I think it has been one of the first times where they have managed to get everything I had inside of me. And you do not always have that luck.
Did you expect the acceptance of your two promotional singles that in just hours were ranked number one in Spain?
The acceptance of the public is always a gift, and for people to want to continue caring and supporting you when you return with a new project is what everyone wants. But the numbers are that, numbers. That does not obsess me at all, what you have to do is keep fighting to keep being yourself, as personal and honest as possible.
If in my music, which is the purest thing I have, there was not an honest philosophy of work, in the end nothing would make sense.
Is the common denominator of your album romance?
It is an album that has criticism, there is a song that is a face to face encounter with power and with politicians. There is another issue that analyzes life in general, which speaks of the prejudices, the desire to live that we all have, and that many times we ourselves cut our wings.
